OUR HISTORY
Home to the oldest abstract plant in the county, Rockport Abstract & Title Company has long served Aransas County by maintaining and protecting the records and integrity of its real property transactions. Originally owned by attorney, Emory Spencer, the company operated under the moniker, Modern Title, from the 1920s into the 1970s.
In 1978, attorneys, James Anderson and William Walston took ownership and partnered to form Rockport Abstract & Title Company. Both Anderson and Walston dedicated their lives to the service of the Rockport-Fulton community and the greater Aransas county. Outside of the title company and private practice, Anderson also served as Aransas County Attorney for over 30 years.
Walston’s daughter, Jacalyn Bauer, later joined the business eventually taking up Walston’s mantle when he officially retired. Together, she and Anderson continued to serve the community faithfully. Under Bauer’s leadership, the business expanded to include Rockport Title Company. With its storied history of dedication to the community, the company has now been entrusted to the Lambert family.
Keely and Kevin Lambert have long loved spending their free time at the family fishing cabin in Rockport. When presented with the opportunity to make Rockport-Fulton their permanent home, they eagerly accepted. First working to establish a small law practice, they have now expanded their pursuits to include owning and managing Rockport Title, where they look forward to carrying on the legacy built by the Andersons and Walstons over the past 40 years.
When not at work, the Lamberts enjoy spending time with their family and friends. They can usually be found somewhere in the South Texas outdoors either sporting fishing poles or at the family ranch.
